Been catching up on releases from the past few months and I just had to mention the new disc from NIGHTINGALE (Dan Swano's melodic prog band), titled "Retribution". What a fantastic classic melodic rock cd with prog elements this is. I've grown a little tired of this style of music recently, due to very few albums that have had that special something. To me, the genre had grown pret

Another one I'm really liking is the new disc by Sweden's Sherlock Brothers, titled Monkey Made Nation. Out Friday 11/14 worldwide I suggest you check them out if you like modern hard rock with a melodic edge. http://www.sherlockbrothers.com Links to the 2 singles off the disc... www.sundaysunmusic.com If you never heard of this band, check 'em out. Released 3 EP's a couple years back and the new disc is out today. 60's style pop in the mode of Beach Boys (Pet Sounds) and Linus Of Hollywood. I, for one am glad bands still make this type of music. Nothing like a great 3 minute pop song with great vocal harmonies ala the above. B

Been away for a few months and am shocked nobody has mentioned this new CD from Norway's AUDREY HORNE. One of the year's best classic hard rock discs IMO. Anybody listen to this band? B

Excellent band. My faves are Edges Of Twilight, Interzone Mantras, and Seven Circles, in that order. Great instrumentation with Indian and Middle Eastern flavors mixed in. What a treat it would be to see them live. Brian

If you have the LEOGUN CD, do you have the standard edition, or the special edition with the 2 bonus tracks? Was thinking of ordering the special edition, although I'd like to get it from iTunes like ASAP. Just curious what version you had... Thanks, Brian

That Maragold track is VERY cool. Not huge on female fronted bands, but when it's THAT good, I can't pass it up. Quality is quality. Thanks! If you wanna hear a great female rock singer, check out the band BLUES PILLS. Might bee too retro for your taste, but she's so good (Ann Wilson/Janis Joplin good!) see what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO3I5aa2C_M B

SO, is anyone willing to part with the track? I've sent probably 100 PM/emails with bonus tracks over the past couple years, but nobody is able to PM me? I'm sure I have something to send back in return. That's disappointing, to say the least. so far... Brian

Haven't seen any commentary on this exclusive track. Opinions? Anybody care to PM me with the track? Would gladly send any Japanese bonuses in return if I have it. At least someone share a review of the track. Thanks, Brian

Excellent disc from Kamchatka, I'd say it'e their best yet. With Per Wiberg (Spiritual Beggars/Opeth) on bass & Hammond organ giving them a fuller sound this is 70's hard rock of the highest order. Been really into the retro sound these days, and of course Sweden is the hotbed for quality. Here are a few more recent discs that are musts if you like that organic, hard driving sound with to

The BLOOD OF THE SUN album I think you were recommending is called "Death Ride", not Hell Ride. Nice to have heard Derek St. Holmes is such good form, wasn't it? B

The song is excellent. You need to have pledged to the campaign to hear the track. One of my favorite straight rock bands out there. Very happy to see the project was a success. Can't wait for the full disc. Brian

Hey guys, I'm really hoping someone has this Japanese bonus track, titled "These Words". In my opinion it's one of the best tracks on the disc. My external hard drive seems to have died and I lost EVERYTHING. At least until I can get the drive repaired. This is one of the few gems I wanted to have while I'm waiting for the drive to be fixed. If anybody has it, it's this crew.

This is what you're looking for, I am sure. The band was Power Supply, the song was "Bad Habit". Video used to be on Youtube but it's nowhere I can find now. If ANYONE can find this I would love to find it once more so I could download it. It was a good old song and I am pissed I never did keep a copy for myself. B

One of best, most varied disc I have heard yet this year was totally a blind purchase but turns out to be a brilliant piece of work. The album has a progressive edge, but at it's heart is melodic as hell from start to finish. After looking into it I found out Oliver Wakeman is involved, along with superb vocalist Phil Naro (Check out his band Druckfarben). Have a listen to the track "
