I love Angel, the first two albums are essential pomp, after that they moved toward shorter more radio friendly songs but they were still good. Appreciate a lot of the younger visitors here would not be very keen. The Dimino album was really good but it was more straight up hard rock with only the odd hint of his Angel past. Frank's voice is very strong but he's singing lower than he did with An

Voice is great but the version is drab, could have been so much more powerful, and no I don't mean rock (I know he's given up on that) but it's got no energy.

How very dare you sir, I know lots of things, but lets not get into a twist about HOL, they were great when they started and the first 3 albums are their best work. I still like them but they will never equal their early stuff for me. I don't agree that they were a 3rd rate band though so lets agree to disagree.

There's a bit of an influence but they aren't clones. House of Lords were formed out of the ashes of Giuffria, a much more pompous aor band. HOL may have some of styling of the Whitesnake image but it doesn't make them a 3Rd division copy. You obviously don't like them and in your usual arrogant my opinion right you think you are always right. What is it with you and your ignorance of anyone else

Well just name a few, apart from Whitesnake who they were nothing like.

Out of interest, which bands do you consider to be HOL's competitors back in the day?

It never ceases to amaze me some of the stuff that gets discussed and praised here when other much better bands are ignored. Regarding Tommy Heart, I love his voice and Fair Warning are one of my favorite bands. Only hear the samples of the solo album so far and it seems a lot lighter than I was hoping for but I'll pick it up if it gets a release outside of Japan.

Hey Ted, I've been a fan of yours since the Prophet days and have all your stuff. Also a big fan of Chuck Burgi so when I saw the press release about the new band I was stoked to hear what you would come up with. I have to be honest and tell you I like the 2 songs available to hear so far even if they are more straight forward in structure than what I was expecting, but I have been the protagoni

Just listened to the 90 sec sample on itunes. Promising but not spectacular. They don't make bad albums though so looking forward to it.

Bobby Blotzer has issued a statement in the last few days about the ownership of the name and from what he say's he's confident he's ok to use the name Ratt. This is going to be an interesting few months watching it pan out. The Pearcy, DeMartini and Croucier version will hopefully release new music sooner rather than later. Jimmy DeGrasso would be a great permanent addition but be may have t

Not my cup of tea, far too poppy and Pat's voice sounds weak on this.

The guitars and vocals are bright but the separation on the instrumentation is lacking. Refer to my previous message about Chuck Burgi's drum work.

OK having listened to this a few times I stand by previous comments about the mix lacking clarity. See pic of Chuck Burgi's new drum kit used on the album https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/03/e2/4c/03e24c3240cf7973e21b615184a6a77e.jpg

I agree the sound of the cd should be better than samples. However, technology these days is advanced enough to be able to give you a good idea of the sonic quality. If you listen on itunes to a sample of eg Big Big Train or Spocks Beard and the Tokyo Motor Fist tracks just compare the sonic quality (not the music) you can clearly tell a good mix from a weaker one. Again, if the songs are good I

Personal preference, I won't let the mix influence my liking something if the songs are good but if the mix isn't clear it will always cost points so to speak. My speaker system is good enough to allow a pretty decent sound to be heard through itunes and both of these tracks are lacking high end clarity and whilst I respect your choice not to be bothered by a mix, I prefer to be able to hear all

Just heard another 90 second sample on Itunes and It's just like the first one, very sugary and with the horrible mix. You would not think Chuck Burgi was the drummer on this. This doesn't bode well for me but i am pretty sure it will feature on a lot of end year best of lists as there will be loads who will love it. I was hoping for something a bit darker and musically more stretching.

Not often you use that type of language Bruce :-). The one track that's been around a while wasn't as good as I'd hoped for considering the band line up and the mix was poor. Hope the rest is better.

They did a really good ep in 2002 called Night Train Calling. Never been able to find a physical copy but would love to get one.

Compilations are all well and good but Foreigner take the biscuit when it comes to releasing the same songs over and over again. I understand a new album wouldn't sell as well as a comp but they could add one as a bonus.

It's another fecking compilation, 40 tracks but only 2 new songs (one which has been around a few months). Think we've had with this lot in terms of a full new album.

The great Jan Uvena (Alice Cooper, Alcatrazz and Signal) plays some wonderful stuff on the Pipedream album. Agree the Armageddon album is a fantastic album too.
