I think you have a point that there are some who don't care what an album sounds like. I'm with Terry K 100% if something is poorly recorded/badly mixed it can take away from the enjoyment. Doesn't mean it stops me listening to something altogether but it certainly takes away some points. Prime example Tokyo Motor First, if only there was some clarity in the mix and instruments were separated it

After listening to some of their stuff on Youtube all I can say is I am happy I won't be wasting any money on them.

I think it's sad that a singer as good as Kelly Hansen is happy to song someone else's songs and not help create something himself. Even if he didn't write the songs himself, just singing something new would give people the chance to hear him put his stamp on something else instead of the same old 10 to 15 songs.

Adolfo good luck with new Foreigner music. I wouldn't hold out much hope for that but there'll probably be a new compilation due in the next few months.

Hope it all works out for you Troy. My mum had a number of heart attacks within a few weeks about 12 years ago, she had surgery and has been pretty good ever since, she's nearly 82 now:-)

A few days ago my Ipod went a bit pear shaped in that every time I switch it on i have to unplug the headphones and then plug them back in to get sound. Never had this problem before and whilst it's nothing major it is annoying. I've tried everything I can think of and restored to factory settings but it's not cured. Anyone come across this and know how to fix? thanks in advance

I like variety too as it gives things more to get involved with, consequently more varied albums tend to take longer to grow and have a longer shelf life. I do like Eclipse although I don't rate them as highly as some and it's the lack of light and shade that makes their albums simply a quick fix with no longevity. I can enjoy them for a week or two at first then they are relegated to the shelf a

Great post Hustler. I have pretty much everything they've ever done too and can find things to like on all their albums. There used to be a fantastic record shop in Liverpool called Penny Lane Records (some on here will know it). When my cousin told me about this great shop in the city centre I didn't know it but he told me where to find it and after a bit a search I came across the shop situate

Did you ever see the episode of Fools and Horses where the club singer would only sing songs without certain words in? When he finally had to sing the a duet for the scary bad guy it became clear why. Cwyin':-) classic.

I agree it's not an easy thing to learn another language but my remark probably seemed harsh. What I meant was, if someone can sing in another language which they have taken the the time and effort to learn, what is it that makes it difficult to enunciate one or two words when they've done so well with tons of others?

Yes they do and it's annoying. I don't understand why they are able to pronounce most English words but then struggle with a few.

Brilliant guitarist and one of the original pioneers of the twin guitar approach in a band set. Very influential to many musicians but generally underrated buy the public.

I don't let previous works cloud my judgement and take each new album I hear for what it is. Sure there are times when artists/bands release work that isn't as good as what they've done before. However, if the new work is enjoyable then that's what matters. In the case of Jack Russell's Great White, I personally don't even think it should be judged as a Great White album. To me it's a great JR

Generally I am put off by a strong strong non English accent but there are some I don't mind eg Klaus Meine. Also, I am really put off by foreign singers who can't actually pronounce words eg Swedish band Trash on their Watch Out album, there is a cover of Lou Reed's "Vicious" which the singer pronounces the title as "Wishious" which sounds ridiculous.
