Great thread, one of my favourite subjects being a collector. I have a huge wants list on the go for CD's i'm looking for, I bought a CD player in 1987 so I was quite early into the game. CD's have come and gone over the years mainly due to finances. If we all had infinite amounts of money then the search would be over as I believe that everything becomes available given time and more cruciall

Oh dear...not liking this thread at all with the confessions that are about to follow! Good job my wife isn't on here!! The most I have ever paid for one cd is £150 for the Japanese version of Monro - ST. There's a handful of discs at around the £75-£100 mark. Even more at around £30 - £50 On the plus side, it would seem that my cash has been invested wisely and I would guess I'v

You know what guys, I feel sorry for Dave, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Firstly, he and Nige did a great job with Rockingham last year, Tom Keifer was one of many great performances, the show ran to time and he delivered pretty much what he said he would. This year he had to pretty much cancel any plans for Rockingham 2 with Firefest making an unexpected return and I gu

Just last week had to pay £23 charges on the latest Harem Scarem set and Ammunition. Pretty much everything I order outside of Europe is coming with charges. Getting pretty sick of it now. Just registered with Yesasia.com has anybody used them? Free shipping for orders over $39, but that pushes it into the charging zone at this end! Starting to prefer waiting for stuff to appear on the sec

Not just some Frontiers titles that seem to make good money once they have sold through. Some Now and Then discs are pretty rare now as well as early Z and Escape stuff. The Eclipse CD - The Truth and a little more sells for over £100 on the rare occasions it turns up for sale. I'm still missing Second To None myself! I have been trying to complete the Newman back catalogue and some of tho

Hi everyone, been away from the board for a few days so I'm late to this topic. Where do I start....at the beginning. Vinyl - Being in the business, the revival is a very welcome one for me. I've had a Record Shop for 16 years and have stockpiled as much of the black stuff as I could afford and that move looks to be finally paying off.2nd hand vinyl is flying out the doors, when I'm pricing up

Only 4 bands each night, the last 3 bands are taking turns. Doesn't make a heap of difference I'm sure the main three bands are the pull, whilst it's not AOR it's a decent bill for £20+fees. We at the Yardbirds have the Quireboys + Texas Flood on Sat 5th March £16 adv. Cheers. scott.

Al, I did edit my post after I published it, one of the things I edited was the fact that I can now stock Frontiers CD's (standard editions) for £9.99 too. My cost price is £8.50. Cheers. scott.

Bruce, I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrating it is dealing directly with the big record companies and having to compete with Amazon! The Def Leppard CD is £8.30 for me to buy in! (and that includes 15% Indie discount!). I rarely stock any new cd's on the shelf for fear of them sitting there because Amazon has undercut below cost price. I only buy in for definite customer requ

There are all kinds of rumours about who is singing with Jim Peterik, I've heard there could be more than one singer with him and that it's a surprise. I'm sure I won't be disappointed, have faith folks! cheers. scott.

I spoke to Dave Herron on Saturday at Michael Monroe. He was very chatty and quite candid in answering my questions about the festival. Whilst I understand some folks may be frustrated by the lack of communication, we were spoilt by the Firefest team being very approachable and informative. But the fact remains this is not Firefest. What do folks need to know? The bands are announced, tic

We should have done it from the beginning, but I would be interested in how old everybody is to gage an age to some of these lists, maybe a future thread, I think it's been done before. Scott.

What a thought provoking subject! Just a few (there would be many more) that spring to mind, albums that I would never skip a track on include... Shinedown - The Sound of Madness. Def Leppard - High and Dry. Survivor - Vital Signs. Journey - Arrival. Pete Lesperance - Down In It. FM - Both Indiscreet & Tough It Out. H.E.A.T. - Address the Nation. Transmatic - ST W.E.T. - Both al

Us & Them is a superb album, still gets as heavy rotation as the 2 that followed. Leave a Whisper, whilst not as accessible as the other 3, whenever I listen to it, I keep thinking about the mind-set of the band and little did they know at the time what they could achieve after it's release. So whilst not as enjoyable I listen to it with the blessing of hindsight and the knowledge that thi

Steve, Do you know which issue your Motley Crue Leathur Records is? I think there are 4 different ones. The original first press, has a completely black & white cover front and back, including the titles, White Labels with black print, no sunglasses on the back cover in the center and an insert? There used to be a really great page by a Swedish collector that showed the various i

Hi Steve, Sad as I am, I already own the tin & the jap compilation, had them some years now. The card sleeve USA CD I mentioned earlier has the same sleeve as the vinyl in the picture. If you ever see a USA CD with the same FMUK front I'd be very interested. Been a very interesting FM day today. Hopefully 3 more CDs are on their way which will put me ahead in my little competition. Steve, Thanks for the info, I was pretty sure Tough It Out was in a longbox, I have the USA version of the CD (FMUK). I don't have a proper USA (Made in the USA) version of Indiscreet, is that one credited to FMUK too? I have a card sleeve promo that was made in the USA with FMUK on the front, the disc is just credited to FM but manufactured in Japan by CBS/Sony. Sorry if I'm getting ana

I'm looking for a few bits that I know about - Crosstown Train - 1 track CDr promo. Heroes & Villains - Full album watermarked promo (turns up on Ebay) Diggin Up the dirt - 1 trk CDr promo (Ebay again). The toughie I'm really struggling with

Richard, Thanks for helping clear that up, had a couple more messages confirming it was 2007. My friends definatley couldn't have bought them on the Sunday as there was no show on that day that year. Wonder how many were made, how many were signed/unsigned and if that was the price difference £25? vs a tenner (unsigned). I'm still no wiser as to what happened to mine, guess i'll have to
