Because I think he's bored by the whole concept of record - tour - write - record - tour.

He's a big philanthropist and I can see him giving up music and just doing charity or maybe even going into politics. Music does not motivate him but he wouldn't want the Jovi brand going out in the way it's been sold the past two years so one more album and tour with Richie would take him up to nearly 60 then he's done.

He's also said a number of times in past 5 years that he doesn't intend to be like The Stones, going on into old age.
