My thoughts exactly. The A&R people pushed Europe in a softer direction just as the music scene was going heavier and dirtier.
I remember seeing them at Milton Keynes and I loved the new stuff they played. Heavy, full of hammond organ and leaning more towards a classic rock sound. It seems to me the band themselves were more in touch with what was happening to the rock scene than the record label were.
Anyway like I say it's still a good album but I can live without a few of the outside writer tracks.
I've always wanted to know the track list that Europe themselves wanted to release so I can make my own version of the CD as it was supposed to be heard.
