Recently a music trader bud of mine sent some old Derringer releases for me to scope out. I never heard much of anything by him save R&R Hootchie Coo and a couple trcks he wrote for Johnny and/or Edgar Winter (I think Keep Playin' That Rock & Roll was one?). Anyway, I've gotten through most of the 3 he sent-- Back To The Blues, Spring Fever and Sweet Evil. BTTB I found to have mostly tunes that were a bit too stetched out/tedious after 3-4 minutes. I like alot of SF tho the remake of Hang On Sloopy was sorta unnecessary and didn't really fit,IMO. Didn't care much for his versio of Walkin' The Dog,either. The rest is very good tho. So far I'm liking the Sweet Evil cd the best (not the title tho). The guy sure is/was a great player and wrote some pretty adventurous rock back when. Any other fans/opinions out there? T
PS: gotta get to wrappin' gifts and other holiday stuff now...
