Funny Doug would say that because every King's X fan I've talked to that's heard 'Mr. Bulbous' thinks it's their worst album! IMO it's a hard disc to get into but it's a grower and there are a couple of genuine classics, the phenomenal 'Move Me' Pt. 1 & 2 in particular. Overall it is a very mellow record, with occasional heavy outbursts; some of the songs are real jaggedy and not all that melodic. There is no such thing as even a mediocre King's X record but when everything is said and done 'Mr. Bulbous' will rank at or near the bottom of the pile. It certainly is no 'Gretchen'.
