I don't necessarily agree with you, MP. I love Strikes, Tomcattin' and Marauder...but I still feel they have some fillers on 'em too. While I agree with you that Vertical Smiles is pretty weak and Hensley's influence on the band at that time wasn't for the better, you can't really tell how the band wouldv'e evolved without said person.

Not sure they would've been the same great band anyway. As we all know many, many bands went the same way at that time period, going more mainstream, adding keyboards in a desperate search for hits. Vertical was Blackfoot's way of trying to broaden their appeal, which backfired immensely, of course.

With that said, I actually love Siogo. Sure, Hensley's influence on the band's direction and evolvement was a disaster....but his contributions to the sound/songs on Siogo is fantastic, IMHO.

I think Siogo is one of their best and most consistent albums.
