It's funny, given the frequency with which I use that analogy, y'all probably have a picture of me as some 320 lb slob lickin' his fingers and getting chicken grease on his keyboard. (I can assure you, however, that that is not the case. I only weigh 220 lbs, LOL!!) It's just that the analogy works soooo well. It's hard to understand why some people feel shame in their taste in music (ie., the whole "guilty pleasures" idea) when they would never feel that way about their taste in food. IMO, one is no different than the other. A person likes what he likes, and if others don't like it or don't share the same taste, then whose problem is that?! Whether I was a card-carrying member of the Village People fan club, or a Bobby Vinton-aholic, or Barry Manilow's #1 fan, I can honestly say that I don't believ eI would feel any shame shame. No kidding. Why should I?
Now, where did I put that "Elmo's Favorite Lullabies" CD?! ;-)
