It's an absolutely fantastic album. Lyrically desolate, broken, beaten and still belligerent. It's pretty much an acoustic album, but with lush orchestration, horn sections, electronica adding extra textures where needed.

It's almost like a singer songwriter album, and not one for the fanatical Holy Bible brigade. Personally, I think it's great that the band don't stay in one place and keep evolving. At present Nicky is clearly feeling the years catching up with him, as the lyrics are very nostalgic as well as pondering his place in the universe and the defeat of his principles and beliefs by an unshakeable society. Hence, the despondent, haunted tone of the album fits the lyrical themes perfectly.
