QUEEN obviously want to "sanitise" the film in order to make accessible to the majority of age groups etc. Making it as real as FM's life was in the late 70's and early 80's probably isn't "HollyWood" enough. Rarely do films about a musician not get that BS sprinkled all over them. It may be that they are just happy to preserve FM's life, memory and legacy as it is and how people perceive it.
