My only additional advice, thus far, is to jam with local musicians on a casual level. Sometimes, the presence and energy of others can somehow manage to pull you out of a a rut of self-inhibition. Or, try to find yourself a good guitar teacher who can help get you to where you want to be....and BEYOND!!!
