As what adolfo said for SHM-CD's (which are Super High Material), its just a change in the materials used on the disc itself. There is no special player, its just meant to allow the laser of your CD player track better.. better tracking, less error correction, less distortion data to the DAC, better results to your speakers!

Blu Spec is similar in that the master disc is written using a blue laser instead of a red laser.. Blue can focus smaller and create more accurate pits (same way they get so much data on a BluRay disc as opposed to a CD) so once again, your regular Red Laser'd CD player is "supposed" to be getting a more accurate read. Like SHM there is no such thing as a Blu Spec CD player.
