I don't care what anyone says... Whatever Bob Rock touches becomes EXCELLENT. Power *but* clarity with no mud in the mix... Blue Murder, Metallica, Electric Boys... Their *best* sounding stuff was because of his work on the console. "...and justice for all" was unfortunately mixed (no bass), but, luckily, the songs are so well performed and composed I'm not sure the people who turned out for their concerts because of that record cared much. I know I didn't. I was too busy getting my mind blown listening to "One" on 105.5 KNAC.
