If you look back at the history of Hall & Oates, the biggest hits that Daryl Hall ever achieved were Hall and Oates singles. Obviously, Daryl sang all of those hits while John Oates does not appear to have a distinguishable or identifiable voice. But John did play a huge role in that equation because, when they split, the hits stopped. Simple as that.

On a side note, John Oates WITHOUT that featured 'stache, suddenly morphed into the "white" version of Prince.
