thanks so much for the nice words guys!!
how funny to hear that you like some of the Melodica stuff-i thought you hated it and i have never considered adding any to my live set. i truly thought there were some great songs that came from that period of my career but the whole TP vs D2 thing that was the style at the time overshadowed it, as well as a rough start because we didnt autotune the vocals on the debut cd.
All of the lead vocals on the 1st melodica cd were sung live straight through (unless i really screwed up a word)and then i would pile harmonies on top, with as many as 2 or 3 whole songs done in a day because we were basically stealing recording time on sundays when a NY recording school was closed. We had the keys to the door so we went in and recorded on sundays when noone was there, doing as much as we could as fast as we could.it was done on tape,no pro tools and that takes time and isnt a snap to edit so my vocals ended up pretty much left as if i sang the songs in a room for you today,,imperfect but real.Score one for the autotuner.
Obviously that was not the best environment for accurate recording and you caught that, but hey- you gotta do what you have to in this business to get the job done,, however some of the songs were good and we got even better along the way but it wasnt HEAVY like my fav project ever-BONEMACHINE.
Aside from my solo band line up now which is awesome, that was my most lethal live unit..you might have caught us on tour in the UK in the 90's,its all on "Live and Duty Free in the UK" video,i will re-release that on dvd or stream it someday. That band was insane. J3 is a genius and went on to write the best of Tommy Lee's M.O.M stuff. i think its time to add some Bone to the live set again. Good idea. Melodica-not so sure.. ;) tp

(btw-Bonemachine stuff and original D2 was NEVER autotuned,it didnt exist yet, but i had time to make it right by singing some parts over as many times as it took to nail it)
