Is Steve Lukather "X.Y. Jones"?

This is a bit of mystery. Does anyone know who X.Y. Jones is?

She/he played on Belinda Carlisle's "Runaway Horses" album. That is their only credit, so I think it's a pseudonym used by an artist on another label who couldn't be named for legal reasons.

Is it Steve Lukather? Possible reasons:

- Rick Nowels has said that Lukather played on Belinda Carlisle's remix of (We Want) The Same thing that was a huge hit in the UK and elsewhere.

- "Runaway Horses" brings a harder edge to Belinda's discography

- "Runaway Horses" was released in 1989. Toto was still under contract to Columbia, releasing their last record "Past to Present" in 1990. It is possible Columbia refused to let him help another label on a big name act until they completed their contract.

Admittedly I'm not a Toto expert - I'm having a hard time discerning if it actually sounds like Luke.

And if not Luke, does anyone have any other guess?
