I had a similar question along those lines. I know labels get the lions share of money from music and artists get a % of the record sales, radio airplay, streaming ect. In the case of Def Lep i have this question. Back in the day when they were all over the radio and selling albums I would think there %, no matter how small, added up to big money. So is the need to re record because since there is less airplay and minimal albums sales there % is still the same but the check just dropped?

I do know in the movie The Wrestler Steven Pearcy re recorded Round and Round so he must have made out well. And you really don't notice its not the original (in the movie setting)
