That's why it's opinions...and your belief. To me they don't mean anything. I loved X. I thought it was a great Def Leppard album. Also To Be Alive was one of the best ballads they've ever had. Demolition Man was one of their best rocking songs since Pyromania and Only The Good Die Young was by far my favorite song on Sparkle.
Dio was such an egotistical bastard Campbell would not have any credit if he didn't write things. Think what you want but after seeing Vivian play countless times, Vivian had a ton of musical influence on Dio. His Playing on Shadow King and Riverdogs in similar in ways, just not as heavy but if you know guitars the influence is obvious.
As for Coverdale, that statement is bullshit, complete 100% bullshit because Campbell was hired for the tour only. There was actually no studio attempt at songwriting with Vivian at all. Vandenberg was already Coverdale's writing partner at that point. I don't know if that statement you made was true and I would love to see the source. Vivian was never meant to be a member of whitesnake, he was a touring member only. Vivian brought songs in but Coverdale pretty much dismissed them as not Whitesnake enough. He felt Vivian never listened to Whitesnake, but they never tried to write together.
