Point taken T but wouldn't hold my breath on an Empire follow-up. The majority of the die-hard fans want heavy Queensryche (and heavy doesn't necessarily mean METAL, just a good cracking hard rock record created by the BAND!), so I doubt a commercial hit such as Empire will be the result, might be nice but more likely a good mix of those early albums and some modern elements!
Empire was awesome but don't expect this to be a followup to that record, simply the band moving forward and away from where they were at. Hey, American Soldier was cool too, was them getting on track again (thanks much to those Wilton solos and conceptual approach ;) but that quickly turned around with the cabaret shows and release of Dedicated To Cabaret (not to mention the shenanigans that followed)... LaTorre is a longtime fan, he knows what made this band tick and while wanting to put his own stamp on the name moving forward, I'm sure he will also be trying to be as faithful to the original line-up as he can. And for that reason expect a BROAD coverage of the Queensryche history be included, not just the Empire era. Add to that Wilton was responsible for much of the heavier material in their early days, fair bet that's where they're returing ;)
As far as the 2 Queensryche's go yes, quite sad but can only hope with the release of the 'OfficialQueensryche' album come June, we have a BAND worth lobbying for again).
