Totally agree.

Serpentine - Matt has a very strong voice however where I was, the booming bass just took the edge off their set for me.

Last time I saw Vega (support to Danny Vaughn at JBS maybe?) i was like 'yeah they are ok'. Last night - amazing performance. Loved every minute of it. I now see what you see in them mate. Bought the new album and got a pound knocked off it cos the case was damaged (no hassle - plenty of cases lying around)

FM - as Woody says - very different set. Don't think from memory there was anything played from the Andy Barnett guitar era (Takin It To The Streets/Aphrodisiac/Dead Mans Shoes) hence the surprising lack of Breathe Fire,Only The Strong, Closer To Heaven and Grapevine - normally live FM staples. However very very strong set. As Woody said leaned very heavily on Indiscreet. Mr Overland in fine voice. Get impression it was extremely hot up on stage the amount of times Jim had to wipe his face and hair with the towell...

And surprisingly (considering the last couple of times Ive been to the Slade Rooms) - sound quality was spot on for Vega and FM. Although i did notice (not noticed before so dunno if new or ive just been blind before) a lot of Acoustical Panels on the walls and ceiling...

All in all - a fantastic night and well worth every penny.
