Re: Best year for commercial hard rock back in the day?

Could be argued then that it was less about which year but at what year we were in our mid to late teens perhaps!? ;)
I would say 85-91 was a great stretch but many greats would then fall just either side, Bryan Adams' RECKLESS, Huey Lewis & The News SPORTS, Dio fronted SABBATH, some PRIEST, Extreme's III SIDES, Bangalore Choir's ON TARGET, Megadeth's COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION, Spread Eagle's OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, Little Angels' JAM, Paradise DRACONIAN TIMES and the list could go well and truly on...
But 1987 certainly made a statement;
WHITESNAKE 87
APPETTITE
HYSTERIA
KEEPER I
PERMANENT VACATION
ELECTRIC
SLIPPERY still selling huge...
Personally I think 91 deserves a mention;
Van Halen F.U.C.K.
Queen INNUENDO
Tyketto DON'T COME EASY
White Lion MANE ATTRACTION
Ozzy Osbourne NO MORE TEARS
Metallica METALLICA
GunsNRoses ILLUSIONS
Soundgarden BADMOTORFINGER
Choirboys MIDNIGHT SUN
Fates Warning PARALLELS
Tesla PSYCHOTIC SUPPER
Warrior Soul DRUGS GOD &THE NEW REPUBLIC
Europe PRISONERS IN PARADISE
Skid Row SLAVE
Noiseworks LOVE VS MONEY
Never heard the same mass on quality that came during those periods and much respect for the years prior as per ScottWatson and others above, each inspiring the acts that came later anyways ;)
