Not even close. 1972-1980. Christ some bands did two albums a year. This era includes CLASSICS by Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger, Foreigner, Journey, Kiss, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, The Cars, REO Speedwagon, BTO, April Wine, Supertramp, Van Halen, Foghat, The Police...... 1991 come dude not even close.
For those of you who weren't born back then i feel sorry for, it was magical. Classic album after classic album. Live albums were popular. And best of all...NO VIDEOS!!!!
Don't get me wrong i love what happened in the 80's as well, but it all started back in the early 70's. By 1991 hard rock was being replaced by grunge in mainstream music.
