I think there are a couple different reasons. 1 already mentioned was Japanese audiences are quieter so it's easier to enhance the live tracks without having to filter out the noise.
The other reason is simply cost. Quality Film crews and recording equipment are much cheaper in Japan than they are in South America. You can get cheap crews in South America, but remember you get what you pay for. There are far more quality equipment and crews in Japan.
