Well....if you really don't like Hammond, I can perfectly understand if this isn't for you. I used to dislike Hammonds too and I had to struggle to listen to Uriah Heep, for example (which was my pals favourite band).
Nowadays, while it isn't a favourite sound in any way, I actually have no problem with it and it can even enhance some songs with the addition of it.
Proof that taste can absolutely change with time.
As far as uninspired goes....I have to disagree yet again. Most of the new bands discussed here, modern sounding bands, that's the perfect example of uninspired music. Music that sounds like it's written on computers and the sound is so digital and calculated that it lacks all the emotion and warmth of older recordings. Pro-tooled from scratch to finished songs.
But, that's me....as I said, I can perfectly understand why someone wouldn't like a retro sounding album like this and also why some people find it a little too carbon copy and I should wait with my comments regarding Dig until I've actually heard the damn thing, but I like what I've heard so far and I'm only commenting on the style/sound. :-)
