Tommy...Chord progressions have been exhausted over the test of time granted....but does this mean all new songwriting efforts should steer well clear of what's considered "sellable" or indeed "commercial" in favour of artistic liscence & banging out a set of awkward, disjointed efforts in the name of originality?

Good songs WILL shine through but because we/you arrived somewhat late to the party we can't develop newer landscapes based on tried & trusted foundations?
