I heard that! No pun intended.

The loudness war is very fatiguing on your ears and can cause headaches after extended exposure to it. I miss being able to listen to (properly mastered) vinyl/cassettes/CD's for hours on end ... now after half a CD
my ears are fried.

I don't not fall for all those "remastered" releases as it has killed some of the best songs ever written & recorded.
