I know that Winger sometimes plays the bass line in a couple of their songs (Rainbow in the Rose, Heading For a Heartbreak) via an Apple laptop PC so that Kip can play the keyboards. That had been a question for me when they went on tour to support IV since they couldn't get Cenk Erglou to join the tour due to visa issues, and Paul Taylor has all but retired from touring.

However, sometimes even Apples fail--see my review of last year's Winger show in Charlotte about how the laptop crashed and Kip told Reb and John to 'make something up' while he rebooted the laptop...impromptu jam session. :)

Oh, and the infamous rumor about Kip having someone else play his bass lines during the early days so he could dance on stage...false.
