It's not a waste of talent. It's a very good use of talent, IMO. They are playing what they want to play, how they want to play it AND getting to put out records doing it. More power to them. They're not reinventing the wheel, nor do they need to.
And, aside from similar titles, "TITR" is not a 'carbon copy' of "CITR". If the VC song had a different title, you'd have never made the connection.
