I can appreciate the nostalgic value of having the entire original lineup present and I'm sure (and rightfully so) a DVD will be filmed for such a milestone. I do tire of this obvious attempt to cash in on past laurels. This is a band with no new material since 2000 who has continuously put out live DVDs (and a most excellent one a few years ago) that featured the return of Livgren as well as Steve Morse. I saw them 2 years ago, where they played a free show at the Florida state fair and instead of doing a short set, they did a blazing 90 minute performance. As a die-hard fan I really appreciated that. This is a band that has musicianship that is only matched, and only barely by Toto. But this whole "get the original members and film a DVD and offer a VIP experience with outrageous prices" is becoming absurd. The original line-up reunion is a great idea and I love it but when it's associated so clearly with a carefully concocted and premeditated cash-in, I sort of resent it. And as a guy who unearthed the Steve Walsh/Streets demos to the masses several years ago and treasure this man's voice, I resent his reluctance to even grant an interview in the past 10 years. When he was active on his website his responses to fans were cold and very bitter. He doesn't owe anyone anything, but at least be cordial. Flame me if you will. POWER is my favorite album of all time and I've spent enough money on this band to justify my comments. I can't celebrate such a milestone knowing the motivation behind it.
