This is a great thing to happen along with Spotify and other stream services giving data that goes toward charting. The record industry needs to change and use this data for the next step in the business. While record sales will NEVER be what they were the labels need to focus on getting acts out and sharing the profits there. Bands can't go out because they may lose money. Labels aren't selling albums. Now what needs to be done is to add software that will tell regions/areas where the streams are being played. If your a band afraid to go out would you take a chance in a region that shows a thousand unique streams?
