But genuine soul and musical smarts is not what Poison is about. Kotzen for all his talent just doesn't belong in a band like Poison. And Bret doesn't need the best brought out in him. He needs to stay the mediocre singer and flashly, charismatic front man that we all grew to love.

Poison was the best at one thing! They were the best at utilizing the limited talent that they had and turning it into one of the biggest selling hair bands! I think that is something to be very proud of! They don't need any musical validation because it's not who they are.
