As a former media student, I have never understood why bands don't do exactly what Ramsay said above.
I think FM did, because they have worked with a college on a few projects I believe, and aren't some of the camera and sounds guys at Firefest often used from the Uni?
It's great experience for them, and it's a much cheaper resource for the band/label.
