Rest in Peace Tony Sheridan
Date: February 18, 2013 01:12PM
Sad day for the Rock World:
Tony Sheridan died in Germany yesterday. ( Age 72)
Sheridan, born in Norwich, England came to Hamburg in the 60ies and played with various bands, THE JETS were the first British band to play at the Reeperbahn. Paul McCartney called him "teacher" and without his help the Beatles would not have become what they were.
At the last gig from the Beatles at the Star-Club December 1962
the only composition of McCartney and Tony Sheridan „Tell Me If You Can“ was played.
Later he taught Angus and Malcolm Young how to play guitar.
Rest in peace.
