For another option, I was told here a while back when enquiring about these remasters the Japan gold disc version (not sure that's the correct description but the one's based on a mini LP I think it was!?) had a far superior remastered sound to it, but the cost was extremely high for my own pockets.

Not heard it but the recent deluxe remasters of the first three records sounded great to me. Intersting how we hear things differently I guess but certainly better than the recent Whitesnake remasters (the Slip remaster flattened out the sound, almost like they were trying to take it back a few years and remove what is now considered its over-production!? thereby losing all the dynamics and bigness IMO)

Anyways... The Dio remasters sound great by comparison :)
