You know, this was the best response by far that I have gotten on this thread. It's obvious that you are a true Split Enz fan. I didn't even start paying them any attention at all until 1979 and it sounds like you were on board from the very beginning!

I don't know that I would go as far to say that Neil is in the same class with Paul McCartney as a songwriter because Paul is a GOD, but I would say that he is just a couple of levels below him. Neil's songwriting is outstanding! The boy knows how to make a hook and his arrangements are far above most New Wave bands of that era.
