Upon further review...I really enjoyed it! Not sure why I played it once when it came out and never bothered again. Its a solid guitar oriented, funk/pop/R&B record. To call it 'rock', might be a bit of a stretch, but there is a funky cover of Crimson and Clover included. He does break off several very tasty solos throughout the record. The other Prince disc in the set (MPLSound) is a more of a dance/club music vibe. Did not partake in the Bria Valente (protege) disc. I would certainly recommend Lotus Flower. I found it enjoyable and will give it further spins.
