OT : Buying a car in the UK/Europe

Just wanted to know how the car buying experience is outside the USA. I am in the process and I must say it is the "dirtiest" experience one can go thru here as it is so dishonest and rigged. How is it in others countries? I know they all the lawyers go to help but I think there are more car salesman there then that.
