It always amazes me how people panic in those situations. What they should do is line up in single file, positioning the children in the front, women in the middle, men in the back of the line from youngest to oldest and then the male employees at the end of the line in order of rank with the owner/manager last. Then everyone should put their hands on the shoulders of the person in front of them and march in a simultaneous fashion straight through the door until the last person is out (a congo line so to speak). In the parking lot, a safe distance away from the building, the manager should then take roll of the crowd to make sure they are all accounted for.
