I only speak for stations I listen 2 and anytime the subject of new music by the same artists they play or even deeper cuts the people respond with play it! Now i won't comment on stations others listen to as I wouldn't know what those listeners want.

Also from a simple business side. If Coke classic still sells then you still promote it to the next generation. The Classic Band tour do as well as they do with Zero promotion or airplay. What if there was some airplay and promotion?
