Rock journalists make shit up shocker!
Geoff Barton almost single handedly killed Def Leppard's UK career. The music press writers I grew up with (Sounds/Kerrang) just about all had ego's as big, if not bigger, than the band members they were writing about.
Total wankers, almost to a man (Dave Reynolds excepted). It still carries on today, you only have to wade through the crap that fills Classic Rock magazine.
