Excellent stuff. Totally surprised me with just how good they were this evening. A crowd of around 400 (from 70,000 applicants!) in a very intimate theatre inside Braodcasting House. We stood about 12 feet from the stage but against a side wall as my back and knees aren't what they used to be.
Jon sounded okay, not as bad as I had feared, Richie was in stellar form and the rest of the band didn't let the side down. No idea who the second guitarist was/is, but he looked a little like Pat Smear's younger brother.
Great sound, too. Slightly bass heavy but good acoustically considering the venue size. Nice set list, plenty of new songs - all of which were good but particularly ARMY OF ONE. Very strong song....along with the title track of the newbie (which I've forgotten).
We loved every second. If anyone saw it on TV how did it sound on air?
*edited for forgetting correct new song title!
