Re: The Cult and DL...
Actually Dave, I gotta admit to liking Born Into This a WHOLE lot LOL...
Kinda felt that album really trying to get back to their yesteryear and even borrowing from themselves (as they always have and will continue to do LOL) with Dirty Little Rockstar things just clicked too well for me to ignore ya know!? I mean Citizens was cool Sound Of Destruction was very farking classy Illuminated absolute killer Stand Alone from the bonus disc shoulda been an album staple and I dare any fan of The Cult to take a listen to TIGER IN THE SUN and NOT be in Cult heaven baby yeah! ;) Love Love Love that song and honestly while agree it was far from one of their better releases and Weapon bettered it, Born Into This was indeed another underrated album from The Cult! I have the t-shirt to prove it too!
Fan-made video but very worth a watch (and listen) in case ya missed it;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCXYU_eBDYQBack OT however yes, I certainly feel The Cult made THE right decision forging ahead with a studio release particularly cause it well and truly delivered and while I've not been moved much by the last 20 odd years of Leppard, I'm always open to what they've got to offer.
Whether that be with an EP or album I'm not fussed but IMO based on the last few efforts they may be better off going for a top quality EP!? Honestly after a time the guys may just not want to create like they once did so that might suggest an EP is the right way to go!?
And for what it's worth, while I didn't rate the new songs offerred on Mirrorball I well and truly enjoyed the live material, good fun stuff!
