This isn't too bad and feels quite fresh. Not up there with the Gutterflower material but an interesting attempt at something different. I agree 100% with the comment about Reznik's voice too.
There does seem to be a strange convergence towards a more pop orientated sound from certain bands these days; Matchbox Twenty, Lifehouse, Bon Jovi, Train etc. Must be a zeitgeist bandwagon type thing.
