I think they waited too long to take the make-up off. By that it was a tired act and people lost interest in the mystique. MTV even ran it on a late Sunday night with very little fanfare. I think the perfect time would have been ironically around the "Unmasked" album. Yes you'll hear Gen and or Paul talk about how it was one rocks most anticipated moments and millions upon millions of people were relishing the event. Truth is by then the unmasking was a sleeper.
