I think Nebraska is one of the greatest albums of all time, not just for it's lyrical brilliance, evocative storytelling and stripped back haunting quality. But because it was such a ballsy thing to do by an artist that had just had his first real commercial success with Hungry Heart, and then went in a completely different direction. Which really has been the template for his whole career and is the mark of a true artist.
