They might come from Europe, they might sell some cd's and do some small scale touring here, but no, nobody really cares about this music here either. If and when it's being played on the radio it's mostly old classics from Journey, Foreigner, Survivor, etc.

It's all about money. Radio stations need sponsor money, the more listeners the more money. They can't afford to play music not suggested by the people running the show. They're in their pockets. It's simple. But on the bright side, aor and melodic rock has an advantage, because the music is what I will call "radio friendly" - unlike a lot of other sub genres, especially within the metal community. But first you have to ship some artist over to major record companies. Frontiers and their likes can't afford to buy their way into the game. And then you have the fashion side of it. Music is fashion, and it has to go hand in hand with other trends. And trends come and go at an incredible rate these days. Nothing is what it used to be, and it will never return the way it was.

But being 22 yrs old and into melodic rock is a good thing, so there's hope after all I guess ;)
