Not only the greatest festival in Switzerland, but IMHO in the whole world. I used to attend Montreux religiously from 1989 until 2002, and last went in 2004 to see Gary Moore and David Garfiled. First time I attended was in 1974 when my dad played with former Louis Armstrong clarinet player, and NO legend, Albert Nicholas.

I have seen so many amazing concerts there.... George Benson, Al Jarreau, Michel Petrucciani, Dave Weckl Band, Marcus Miller, The Blues Brothers, Cassandra Wilson, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Fourplay, George Duke, Huey Lewis, Gary Moore, Steve Lukather/Larry Carlton, Quincy Jones....

I met Clause Nobs once in 2004. He seemed a genuine good guy, with a true passion for music and musicians. What he has done in Montreux is absolutely fantastic. Things legends are made of.

Nobs was proabaly the most important figure in the history of Swiss music.
