I like Warrant but I much prefer Rough Cutt. Don't agree they had nothing, in terms of success they didn't get anything major but there were many bands in a similar position who failed, while many lesser bands sold millions. It's the way of the world and all a matter of opinion about what's better than something else.
In terms of media attention, if a band/artist gets enough the public will bite and that's happened more times than we've had hot dinners. Rough Cutt could have had more success with radio play. First album granted was lacking in a really obvious single but "We're Never Gonna Die" could have been a hit with airplay. The 2nd album had 3 or 4 songs that could have been hits. If you don't like them it's fine but it doesn't mean they were bad. David Alford (the drummer) is superb by the by the way and not inept as you say. He might have missed a beat in the video but the guy can play.
