The morons or the hideous sights?
Never see people dressed in afro's, velvet flares with wide lapels and ruffle neck shirts when you go to see people like Al Green, The Four Tops, The Temptations, George Benson...
I don't see loads of people with mullets, tight jeans and open neck shirts at Michael Bolton gigs...
The only person in Meat Loaf fancy dress at Meat Loaf's last gig... was Meat Loaf!
Sure country bands feature lots of denim and checked shirts... but that's a look that's been round forever anyway, think initially it was more born out of necessity than a fashion statement.
The sight's at Firefest are usually the scariest... from behind you'd be forgiven for thinking "oh look it's 1988 Bret Michaels!" then it turns round, you dodge the beer gut, see that the hair starts at the back of the head and the face is that on 60 year old...
Shuddering at the very thought of it...
I think it must be the same mindset... if the clothes are still in 1989... so is the brain.
